Amenorrhea can have many different underlying causes such as thyroid disorders, hormonal imbalance, stress and other conditions.
There are an array of treatment options for amenorrhea most commonly using hormonal therapy.
And Chinese Medicine serves as an alternative to hormone therapy with little to no side effects.
Chinese Medicine assists by:
- Regulating the endocrine system
- Regulating the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovary axis (HPOA) which controls the female reproductive functions
- Restoring balance to the body

Decreased ovarian reserve presents profound fertility challenges that Chinese medicine may complement in some cases.
Our personalised acupuncture and herbal formulas aim to support reproductive health through holistic enhancement of overall mind-body wellness.
However, resilience varies dramatically person to person.
While not a cure-all, Chinese medicine offers drug-free options to explore.
We encourage thoroughly researching all available treatments and thoughtfully evaluating the benefits and limitations of each on an individual basis
Decreased Ovarian Reserve is where the ovaries reproductive function is lost leading to infertility.
This is a common universal process in women as they age. However for some it is more pronounced during their supposedly fertile years.
Which can lead to complications in getting pregnant and sustaining a pregnancy.
Chinese Medicine assists by:
- Improving ovarian function
- Regulating reproductive hormones
- Preventing further decline of the ovary
“After treatments with BCR (a type of Chinese Herbal Medicine), ovarian morphology, ovarian index, estrous cycle, growing follicles and corpus luteum from ovulation were significantly improved”

Hormones dictate a great deal of our bodily processes including fertility, menstruation and menopause.
As well as having an impact on other processes such as sleep, weight, appetite, mood, stress and body temperature.
So when hormone levels are affected it can have an impact on many aspects of our body.
Chinese Medicine assists by:
- Regulating the endocrine system
- Supporting the natural rhythm of hormones
- Reducing side effects of adjunct hormonal therapies

Irregular menstruation can encompass a long or short cycle and light or heavy bleeding.
Abnormal periods can be caused by so many factors such as stress, birth control pills, fibroids, endometriosis, PCOS or hormonal imbalance.
The main recommendation by Western Medicine for irregular menses is to take birth control medication to regulate it.
Chinese Medicine assists by:
- Regulating hormone levels
- Regulating the nervous system
- Reducing symptoms associated with menstruation
“A systematic review revealed that there was an improvement in the menstrual frequency of PCOS patients after acupuncture treatment”

Uterine fibroids can be a common occurrence with as many as 25% of women having fibroids.
But not all will exhibit symptoms. Some will have fibroids that vary in size, number and location.
And symptoms can range from mild to severe such as bleeding, painful periods, pelvic pain, infertility, dysfunction in urination and bowel movements.
Treatment usually involves getting a hysterectomy, a procedure to remove the uterus.
Chinese Medicine assists by:
- Regulating female sex hormones
- Improving blood circulation in the pelvic cavity
- Adjusting the metabolism of connective tissue to regulate growth
“Acupuncture as a treatment for UF is well-founded and may have long-term effects
